Integrating Work, Worship, and Formation
Client: A Theological Seminary
Project: Design and Development of Two Online Courses for Worship Leaders
THE PROBLEM
A theological seminary sought to equip worship leaders with deeper theological grounding and practical tools for leading worship that integrates faith, work, and everyday life. While worship leaders carried significant pastoral responsibility, many lacked accessible learning experiences that addressed the theological, formational, and practical dimensions of their role.
• Learners needed support integrating worship with the whole of life
• Worship leaders sought theological grounding connected to real-world practice
• Existing offerings did not fully address the pastoral nature of worship leadership
• There was a need for learning that balanced knowledge, formation, and applied skills
• Courses needed to be flexible and accessible for working ministry leaders
To meet these needs, the seminary required thoughtfully designed online courses that could form worship leaders holistically and support effective congregational leadership.
THE SOLUTION
We partnered with the seminary to design and build two in-depth online courses using a combination of new and existing content, developed through a collaborative discovery process.
Key components included:
• Purposeful course design aligned to outcomes defined during the discovery phase
• Video-based instruction supported by multimedia content, assessments, quizzes, and curated resources
• Designed to bridge theological grounding and practical application for pastoral leadership
• A learning framework centered on content, character, and craft to guide knowledge, formation, and practice

The result was a cohesive learning experience that supports theological depth, pastoral formation, and practical leadership.
THE IMPACT

The courses delivered meaningful outcomes for learners and the institution.
• Worship leaders gained a clearer theological vision for integrative worship
• Learners developed stronger pastoral instincts and a deeper understanding of their role
• Practical tools supported planning for holistic congregational worship
• The seminary expanded its ability to deliver high-quality, accessible online education
• The courses strengthened alignment between theology, practice, and lived experience
These courses now serve as a strong foundation for forming worship leaders who understand worship as a practice that shapes faith, work, and everyday life.
